Musical Tribute to CruiseBuggie

Musical Tribute to CruiseBuggie

As part of a birthday present to Mom (aka: Buggie) two years ago, I presented this website/board to her. It grew out of love from all of you. A year later, YoRay (Ray Fisher) wrote a tribute/parody to the music from the well known song by Toby Keith. This year, as part of the birthday extravaganza cruise, I presented her with a professional recording of the song.

This is thanks to a co-worker of mine, Mike Nichols, who is a talented musician. I told him about this board, and the surprise cruise we just finished, and asked if he could learn the song, play the song (all the tracks and instruments) and sing the audio track. He literally had less than a week to complete the undertaking (thought of the idea last minute). What was produced was fantastic. He had never heard Toby's song before, nor saw Ray's parody and lyrics. Out came what I hope you will agree is a fantastic tribute to CruiseBuggie.com.

Click to download/listen to "I Love This Board" (music and vocals by Mike Nichols, song/parody by YoRay (Ray Fisher) and original by Toby Keith).

Your friends always,
Buggie and BuggieSon

Celebrity Anticipated Celebrity Solstice Extends Inaugural Season

More InfoHighly-Anticipated Celebrity Solstice Extends Inaugural Season

Three additional sailings in 2008 include new maiden voyage

MIAMI, May 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Celebrity Solstice, widely heralded as the most exciting ship entering the market even before it launches, has introduced three additional sailings for cruisers to enjoy during its inaugural season this year. Celebrity Solstice now will enter service with a Thanksgiving cruise, November 23, 2008, three weeks prior to its previously announced date of December 14, followed by two additional 7-night Caribbean cruises. Each new seven-night cruise -- November 23, November 30 and December 7, 2008 -- will present the same itinerary, departing roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale, with visits to San Juan, Puerto Rico; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; and Basseterre, St. Kitts.

Acknowledging that some guests booked on Celebrity Solstice's original maiden voyage of December 14 may wish to switch to the new maiden voyage, Celebrity has established a two-week rebooking window from today through June 12. During that time, guests booked on the December 14 sailing will have the opportunity to transition to the November 23 cruise without penalty, in the same stateroom or suite as originally booked, at the original fare. Guests encountering air-change fees as a result of opting to switch will be reimbursed for those fees up to $100 per person, provided acceptable proof of fees is presented to Celebrity by January 31, 2009. Bookings for the November 23 sailing will be open exclusively to guests booked on the December 14 cruise until June 12, when the special two-week rebooking period ends. Bookings for the November 30 and December 7 sailings open today.

Guests on every sailing of Celebrity Solstice will experience a series of brand-defining, first-in-the-industry features onboard, including a half-acre Lawn Club with real grass, a glassblowing show and studio developed with The Corning Museum of Glass. Guests also will experience unrivaled dining venues offering trendsetting cuisine and design, and widely varied entertainment, including new theater productions in partnership with Poet Theatricals. The 2,850-guest vessel also will have staterooms 15 percent larger than those on previous Celebrity ships, 90 percent of which will be outside, and 85 percent of all staterooms will have verandas.

RCL RCCL names project Genesis Ships
Posted by buggie on Friday, May 23 @ 10:58:48 CDT (2 reads)

Royal Caribbean Cruises' Project Genesis ships, which are to launch in 2009 and 2010, now have names. The Miami-based cruise company said the ships are to be named Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas. They were chosen out of 91,000 entrees in its "Name that Ship" contest. George Weiser, of Livonia, Mich., submitted the names. He will name the entire class of new ships. When launched in late 2009, Royal Caribbean (NYSE: RCL) said Oasis of the Seas will be the largest cruise ship in the world, with 16 decks and 2,700 staterooms, and coming in at 220,000 gross registered tons with capacity for 5,400 guests. It will homeport at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. Allure of the Seas is to launch in 2010. Last month, Royal Caribbean said its Project Genesis ships will feature an area based on New York City's Central Park in the center of the ship, several restaurants -- including 150 Central Park, Central Park Café and Vintages wine bar -- boutiques, an art gallery, a sculpture garden and a chess garden with large-scale pieces. It said 334 staterooms will overlook the park.
